Love this. It is so true how we view God as a genie in the bottle who will give us gifts if we just learn to control him the right way.

Yep. Much of modern religion is technology driven in that regard. That is what technology is often about - control and access. But, it is something that we wield to get what we want. When we apply techonology (methods, steps, control structures) to create certain outcomes, how far away are we from witchcraft? It is subtle, but deadly.
