The Resolution Committee had good reasons to decline McKissics resolution. I took a DMin seminar through NOBTS and we had the opportunity to briefly meet the resolutions committee and ask questions. We questioned their reasoning about declining that resolution and others and all of us (we had young pastors such as myself and older pastors) were more than satisfied with their answers. Not that we shouldn't question our resolutions committee (or any other committee) but what a blessing that we can trust them that they do their due diligence before they accept, revise, combine, or decline resolutions. After meeting them and seeing how they do their process, I have a much greater respect for their duties.

I was impressed with them as well. My point is that finding a way to address things like that or giving an alternative on issues of that matter when people bring resolutions like that is appropriate - even helpful. I think the Resolutions Committee did a great job. I just wish we could have spoken to that issue.

Dwayne,
What reason did they give for declining Dwight's resolution?

Joe

What did you guys think about the motion to disclose executive salaries? And was President Wright out of order when he refused to let a messenger speak Wednesday morning and closed the business session with 5 minutes remaining although the messenger speaking about the motion had asked for permission to speak? It was dealing with the motion about disclosure of executive salaries. Coincidence? Just getting your thoughts, as it appeared that this motion was receiving some support by the floor through applause, etc.
