Has anyone else heard about this? A friend of mine told me about it at lunch today and I looked it up. Apparently it really happened and it is a real live news story. In South Florida last month, a man who had a massive heart attack and died was raised back to life. His doctor was a Christian and he says that God told him to go back and pray for the man one last time. The man had been dead for over an hour with no heart beat. The doctor prayed for the man and them told the medical crew to shock him one last time and a heartbeat was restored. The man started breathing and woke up. It is quite an incredible story.
UPDATE: The testimony from the doctor on how this happened. There's a Youtube video from a local news report as well.
And yet ANOTHER story of an African pastor named Daniel Eckechukwu, who was dead for two days and was resurrected through the prayers of Christians and the power of God. There are four YouTube videos about it as well. This is the first one.

Awesome, did you hear about the guy that was on the Today show this week, who was brain dead for over an hour, the organ donation chopper was on the way, but God healed him also?

That is really cool.
What do you bet the media goes overboard to try to discredit the doctor and the story?

Rob,
I did hear someone mention that, but I didn't know the details. I thought that maybe it was the same story. It is amazing that it was a different story. I also found a documentary on Youtube about a man being raised from the dead in Nigeria. They actually have footage. Type in "raised from the dead" and you'll see it.
Add this story to Don Piper's testimony, and it seems that some interesting things are happening.
John,
If I know Christians very well, the media won't have to discredit it. We'll debunk it before they ever get to it. Oh WE of little faith.

What's amazing is how often we hear about things like this on the mission field - and last year when we were in the Philippines we saw several healings through our team (but not any dead raising). God is still the same. The thing is remembering it is Him who does it as HE wills, not at our whim or in our strength.
The other thing is that such things are sometimes faked - because man is man and has so little faith. But God is still God and is still the same. He is.
Praise God!!!

I wrote about something just today that is tangentially related and plan on writing a bit more... i think we definitely are a people, as you say, Alan, of little faith:

Alan,
Actually, Dr. Crandall, who prayed for the man who came back to life, is the father of my son's roommate at college. He also is a member of Christ Fellowship in Palm Beach Gardens,(http://gochristfellowship.com/) where my brother and his wife are also members.
This is a credible story, with people I know personally directly involved.
Praise God, He still works miracles today!

Praise God, David! You know, I am hearing about more and more healings lately. Of course, I consider my son's healing to be an incredible miracle and I praise God. Even though he was not absolutely diagnosed, the PET scan showed the lymph node lighting up like cancer would, even though the possibility that it was an infection still existed. He had no other signs of infection and had not run a fever at all and the nodes had not decreased in size. However you want to look at it, I believe that God miraculously healed Caelan. Yes, God does answer prayer and He still does miracles today!

David, that is encouraging to know.
Alan, I've felt in the past that God had a plan for healing - for you, for Caelan and to see your ministry grow.

So, he's trying to figure out what the purpose was in his being raised from the dead. He thinks maybe it's to be a messenger--to tell people miracles do happen.
Then Jesus began to denounce the cities in which most of his miracles had been performed, because they did not repent. "Woe to you, Korazin! Woe to you, Bethsaida! If the miracles that were performed in you had been performed in Tyre and Sidon, they would have repented long ago in sackcloth and ashes." Matt 11:20-21
I hope he stops considering the "why" long enough to ponder the "Who."

Beth,
The news media seems to struggle with the whole story. I believe that the other link that I provided tells that the man did come to faith in Christ.
