Henry Blackaby and Dr. Billy Kim

I am at FBC Montgomery's Global Impact Celebration. I am at the Sunday night commitment service listening to Henry Blackaby.

Dr. Billy Kim from Korea just shared a very moving story about a missionary named William Borden. Years ago, he was led to forsake all and go to China as a missionary. He once said that every heart contains both a throne and a cross. For Christ to be on the throne, we must crucify our flesh upon the cross. If we be on the throne, then we are putting Jesus on the Cross, treating his blood as an unholy thing.  This really impacted me.

Dr. Kim also said that Korea had over thirteen thousand missionaries around the world. That number was second to America, but it was because we sent missionaries to them.

Dr. Blackaby has said that when God speaks to us, it always requires a response. We are called to follow Jesus, not a career, or money, or our desire. We are to follow Jesus. When we hear His voice and His call, we are not to ignore Him, lest we harden our hearts. Blackaby is calling Christians to hear and obey the voice of God. We are to immediately respond, whether that means that we are to pray, to give, or to go and serve Him. God has not blessed us to use the blessing on ourselves, but He has blessed us to be a blessing to the ends of the earth. To obey God in this way means that we will have to sacrifice and release our lives to God's purposes for the nations.

I am blogging from my blackberry in case you were wondering.

I'm jealous. I love Dr. Blackaby. His teachings have changed my life. In fact, we are living an "Experiencing God" time right now.

We got to hear Billy Kim in Hawaii. He was very convicting. He was speaking in a military chapel to, mostly, military members. He basically told us that other nations still look up to us and it is our responsibility to maintain our integrity and self-sacrifice as a nation so we can reach others.
