David Rogers . . .

David_rogersI was privileged to get to hang out with David Rogers today. He is an IMB missionary to Spain and one of the most thoughtful and brilliant bloggers in the Baptist Blogosphere. We spent some time together this afternoon over a Starbucks and engaged in very challenging conversation. David is in town for First Baptist's Great Commission Prayer Conference with other notable speakers such as Henry Blackaby and Tom Eliff. I hope to attend on Saturday morning.

David has served in Spain for 18 years as a church planter, pastor, and facilitator of evangelical networks. He is a very thoughtful man, a great listener (I got excited about our conversation and tended to ramble), and has a heart for unity in the Body of Christ based on the person of Jesus and the belief and proclamation of the Gospel. I was sharpened and encouraged by David. If you haven't ever visited his blog, I highly encourage you to. We need more missionaries like David Rogers.  One other thing, for those of you who don't know, David is the son of the late Adrian Rogers, pastor of Bellevue Baptist Church in Memphis, TN. I almost didn't mention that because David stands as a man of God in his own right, but I thought it would provide some context for those who don't know.
