Your wife is a UA grad, or at least attended UA? No wonder I like you so much!

I remember serving in Michigan in 1989 as a 20 yr old Summer Missionary. I can completely relate...

Alan Cross

She's definitely a grad. She has a degree in Deaf Education and taught for 3 years before all the children started piling up. She is so talented.

As for me, I am graduated from Miss. St. and am a HUGE LSU fan (born in New Orleans, grew up in South MS). I pull for LSU every game and MSU every game except when they play LSU. My two schools went 2-0 against Bama last year, so don't start liking me too much! :)

Alan,

Why does it have to be so simple?

I think you have hit on some of the best strategic missiological principles out there in this post. I believe this should be a key part of the orientation for all mission teams and missionary candidates.

Rob Slagle

I remember you teaching us this before the trip after Katrina made landfall.

I've seen this at work in all my trips to the coast as well as local ministry.

Amazing, how the simplest things are the most effective, huh?

Alan,

A very convicting post. I fall short of this simple principle daily. You have touched my heart.

Great story. Instructional not only as to how we ought to act, but how God always comes through.

I went on many mission trips in years past and we always had two mottoes: A) Hang loose (we even had a hand gesture for that) and B) Be sweet & love Jesus. I quit counting all the twists and turns we encountered, and also the times God came through spectacularly.
