Falwell's Grand Plans

Liberty University as a Division 1-A football powerhouse? That is the plan of Jerry Falwell the Chancellor of Libery University according to Dennis Dodd writing for cbs.sportsline.com.  Dodd tells Falwell to get ready to compromise the stated mission of the university, however, because making the jump from a 1-10 1-AA team to a Division 1-A powerhouse might be harder than he thinks.  Falwell, 72, has decreed that this must happen before he dies to make the university complete.  I'll keep my thoughts on this basically to myself and let you be the judge, but does this not smack of kingdom building, and not of the Biblically correct kind? How about athletic competition for the sake of competition? Statements of greatness for the glory of God ring hollow to me and to the world as well. It seems to be more for the glory of Jerry Falwell.
